Cotton & Gems encapsulates what I stand for. The ‘Cotton’ of Cotton and Gems is  me – Clare Cotton. Some people think jewellery is just for show but for me it’s so much more. Jewellery should reflect your spirit and personality.

I have had a love and passion for jewellery all of my life and I have grown up in a family where jewellery has been a fundamental part of our lives. Because of this I have been able to draw upon personal experiences to gain an understanding of what customers want and subsequently select pieces that are stylish with impeccable design.

After following my father into the jewellery trade I started my career training in retail, excelling in customer service before going on to run a small family jewellers.  With an extensive knowledge in all aspects of the retail trade, from management to buying, I wanted to explore the jewellery world further and decided to learn about wholesale and manufacturing, working for an exclusive Italian manufacturer who designed for such high profile retailers as Tiffany’s and Links of London. Being responsible for the full creative portfolio, I have been been credited with successfully modernising the brand’s design and steering the company through the next stage of growth and design evolution at the forefront of the British retail jewellery scene.
